Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast, I'm your host Archer, and we've got some absolutely crackling stories from the Premier League and beyond today. From strikers causing bidding wars to wingers making surprise moves, the transfer window is heating up nicely, so let's dive straight into the action.

Starting with what's shaping up to be one of the most intriguing transfer battles of the window, Benjamin Sesko is attracting serious interest from not one but two Premier League giants. Manchester United are reportedly holding talks with RB Leipzig over the Slovenian striker, who has been in tremendous form this season. The fact that United are moving for another striker suggests they're really looking to bolster their attacking options significantly.

But United aren't alone in this pursuit, as Newcastle United are also deep in negotiations with Leipzig over the structure of a deal for Sesko. The talks are said to be continuing as both clubs work on finding an agreement that satisfies Leipzig's valuation. It's fascinating to see two clubs with such different recent trajectories both targeting the same player.

RB Leipzig themselves have now confirmed that they've received approaches for Sesko, which adds an official element to what had been largely speculative reporting. The German club clearly know they have a valuable asset on their hands and will be looking to maximise their return.

Meanwhile, there's been some interesting movement involving Newcastle's current striker Alexander Isak, who has landed back in Newcastle after what appears to have been some time away. The timing is certainly curious given all the Sesko speculation swirling around.

Adding to the Isak intrigue, the Soccer Saturday panel has been discussing the Swedish striker's future, with one pundit dramatically suggesting that if he were to move to Liverpool, you might as well give them the title. That's quite the endorsement of both Isak's quality and Liverpool's current strength.

Moving on to confirmed business, West Ham United have officially announced the signing of Wilson, adding another piece to their squad puzzle. The Hammers have been active in the market and this represents another statement of intent from the London club.

In Championship news, Norwich City have had an offer accepted by Lincoln City for Jovon Makama, showing that the Canaries are looking to strengthen their squad for what they'll hope is a promotion push.

There's also movement in the women's game, with Rangers agreeing a deal for Antman, demonstrating the continued growth and investment in women's football across the board.

Brentford's Yoane Wissa is generating some discussion, with the club's hierarchy describing his transfer situation as not ideal according to recent reports. It sounds like there might be some uncertainty around the forward's future that the club would prefer to resolve.

Finally, Birmingham City are reportedly in talks to sign Chuba Akpom, as they look to add firepower to their attacking line. The striker has Premier League experience and could be exactly what Birmingham need for their ambitions.
