🎄 Semenyo's FIVE Suitors Revealed | Salah's Saudi Bid Incoming | Mainoo Exit Talks
Download MP3Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast, I'm Archer, and what a festive treat we have for you today on this Christmas morning. While you're unwrapping presents and enjoying the holiday, the transfer rumour mill never stops turning, and boy do we have some crackers to discuss. Let's dive straight into the stories that have been making headlines.
Starting with Manchester United, and there's been plenty of chatter about midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. Reports suggest the young England international wants to explore a move away from Old Trafford, with several clubs apparently keen on a January loan deal. However, United could block any temporary departure, which makes sense given their midfield options. According to Sky Sports, Mainoo isn't doing enough to earn a starting spot under Ruben Amorim, which perhaps explains why a loan move might benefit all parties. The club are also eyeing reinforcements themselves, reportedly keen to invest in two new midfielders with fresh targets identified.
Staying with United, they're being linked with a loan move for Conor Gallagher, which would be quite the statement if they could pull it off. They're also plotting a January move for Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo, but they face serious competition for his signature.
Speaking of Semenyo, this lad is certainly in demand. The Bournemouth forward prefers a move to Liverpool if he does leave, which is interesting given Liverpool's attacking firepower. But it's not just the Reds interested, with reports suggesting five clubs are chasing him, including Manchester United and Manchester City. That's quite the shortlist for a player who's really caught the eye this season.
Liverpool have bigger fish to fry when it comes to contract situations. Mohamed Salah remains the subject of intense speculation, with Al Hilal preparing a bid and Saudi clubs continuing to set their sights on the Egyptian King. Jamie Carragher believes Alexander Isak's injury at Newcastle will see Salah stay at Liverpool, which is a fascinating tactical point. The Reds are also planning a bid for Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga and are in a trio of clubs chasing Everton's Iliman Ndiaye, showing Arne Slot is thinking about the future.
Manchester City have their own plans brewing. They're reportedly targeting Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi in the summer, though they'll face competition from Bayern Munich who are planning talks with the England international. According to the Transfer Talk Podcast, two thousand and twenty-six will be Guehi's year and he shouldn't rush any decisions, which seems like sound advice. City are also being linked with Lyon's Rayan Cherki, described as a potential wildcard maverick in their Premier League title race. Now that would be an intriguing signing.
Crystal Palace themselves want Brennan Johnson from Tottenham, which would be quite the coup for Oliver Glasner if they could tempt him across London.
West Ham are certainly busy in the market. They're eyeing Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen in January, watching Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney, and have set their sights on Norwich City's Josh Sargent. Nuno Espirito Santo is clearly looking to add firepower and depth to his squad.
Manchester United's Joshua Zirkzee finds himself in a deadlock situation with Roma over a potential move, which will be one to watch as we head into January.
Elsewhere, two Premier League clubs are eyeing Sporting's Ousmane Diomande, Paris Saint-Germain are considering a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford, and Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford wants to leave the club, presumably for regular first-team football.
Leverkusen are reportedly interested in a Brighton youngster, though Fabian Hurzeler will be keen to keep hold of his promising talents.
And in non-Premier League news that might interest some of you, Niclas Fullkrug is flying to Milan to complete a loan move from West Ham, with the deal set to be an initial loan arrangement.
So there we have it, plenty of movement expected in January with clubs across the Premier League looking to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season. From Semenyo's suitors to Salah's future, from Mainoo's situation to City's summer plans, it's going to be a fascinating window.
