Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast, I'm your host Archer, and today we're diving into a whirlwind of transfer stories swirling around the Premier League on this Thursday, the twenty-ninth of January, twenty twenty-six. It's an absolutely frantic day with plenty of intrigue, so let's get stuck in.

Starting with Nottingham Forest, who have made a substantial thirty-five million pound bid for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. Sean Dyche clearly wants to bolster his attacking options as Forest push for a strong finish to the season, though it remains to be seen if Palace will let their forward go.

Interestingly, Aston Villa are also interested in that same player, Mateta. Unai Emery seems keen on adding firepower, and with Villa competing on multiple fronts, depth up front could be crucial in the coming months.

Staying with Villa, they're reportedly targeting Ruben Loftus-Cheek as well. Emery appears to be in the market for reinforcements, and Loftus-Cheek's versatility could make him an intriguing addition to the Villa midfield.

Aston Villa aren't done there, as they're also eyeing a return for Tammy Abraham. The English striker previously impressed during his time in the Premier League, and a reunion could provide Villa with a proven goalscorer who knows the league inside out.

Now to Manchester City, who are keeping close tabs on Trent Alexander-Arnold. Pep Guardiola is always looking for elite talent, and the Liverpool right-back would certainly fit that bill if City decide to make a serious move.

City are also preparing an offer for Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The England international has been outstanding this season, and Guardiola may see him as the perfect addition to shore up his defensive options.

Tottenham could pay five million pounds for Andy Robertson. Thomas Frank seems interested in bringing the experienced Scottish left-back to Spurs, which would provide vital depth and leadership in that position.

Trent Alexander-Arnold won't be leaving for Real Madrid this window. The speculation can be put to bed for now, with the right-back staying in the Premier League, though his long-term future remains a topic of discussion.

Mohamed Salah is a prime target for the Saudi Pro League. The Egyptian superstar continues to attract massive interest from the Middle East, and while Liverpool will want to keep him, the financial packages on offer are eye-watering.
