Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast! I'm Archer, and it's Monday, January the twenty-sixth, two thousand and twenty-six. Grab your coffee, settle in, and let's dive into what's been an absolutely bonkers transfer window. We've got some massive deals to discuss today, so let's get straight into it.

First up, the biggest news of the day: Crystal Palace have completed a club record signing, bringing in Brennan Johnson from Tottenham for thirty-five million pounds. Oliver Glasner has made a real statement here, adding genuine pace and quality to his attacking options. This feels like a signing that could define Palace's season.

Staying with the big spenders, Manchester City have had an extraordinary window, and it continues. They've signed Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace for an initial twenty million pounds, which takes their spending to a staggering four hundred and twenty-five million pounds over the last twelve months. Pep Guardiola is clearly rebuilding his defensive options after a challenging period.

But wait, there's more from City. They've also secured Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a sixty-four million pound deal. That's right, their spending is now well over four hundred and twenty-five million pounds in twelve months. Semenyo has been brilliant for Andoni Iraola's side, and this is a huge loss for the Cherries but a fantastic addition for City.

Now to Tottenham, who have been busy themselves. Conor Gallagher has joined Spurs from Atletico Madrid for thirty-four million pounds, beating out interest from Aston Villa. Thomas Frank gets a quality midfielder who knows the Premier League inside out. This could be a shrewd bit of business.

Speaking of Tottenham, there's gossip suggesting they could pay five million pounds for Liverpool's Andy Robertson. That would be an interesting move for both clubs if it materializes.

Over to Liverpool, where Trent Alexander-Arnold's future remains unclear, but reports suggest there's no Real Madrid exit happening imminently. The saga continues.

Mohammed Salah is apparently a prime target for the Saudi Pro League, according to Friday's reports. Given his contract situation, this is one to watch as we head toward the summer.

Aston Villa are making moves in the market. Unai Emery's side are targeting Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and there's also interest in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. Villa clearly want to strengthen their squad for their European campaign.

Villa are also eyeing a return for Tammy Abraham, which would be a sentimental homecoming for the striker who came through their academy.

At Liverpool, Ibrahima Konate's contract situation hasn't been settled yet, which might be a concern for Arne Slot as the Frenchman has been excellent this season.

Chelsea news now, and it's significant. Liam Rosenior's side are reportedly open to selling Enzo Fernandez, which is quite the turnaround for their record signing. Chelsea have also made a move for Jacquet, according to recent reports.

There's a fascinating managerial story developing. Oliver Glasner, currently at Crystal Palace, is apparently on Manchester United's radar. Michael Carrick is interim manager at Old Trafford, so this makes sense.

Atletico Madrid want Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, according to Thursday's gossip. Rob Edwards will be desperate to keep hold of the Brazilian who's been so important for them.

Manchester City, not content with their spending spree, have also made a move for Anderson, according to Tuesday's reports.

Everton are eyeing Arsenal's Ben White, which would be quite the coup for David Moyes if he could pull that off. Mikel Arteta surely won't want to lose the versatile defender.

Marcus Rashford's situation is intriguing. Barcelona want him to stay, and there may even be a route back to Manchester United for him under the current circumstances.

Arsenal are monitoring Tino Livramento and have joined the race to sign Marc Guehi, though that ship has obviously sailed now that he's joined Manchester City. They're clearly looking to strengthen their defensive options.

Bournemouth are keen on Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri, which would be a great opportunity for the talented teenager to get regular first-team football.

Newcastle face a battle for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, with Eddie Howe keen to add firepower to his squad.

Real Madrid have joined the race for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. The youngster has been exceptional, and European giants are taking notice.

Chelsea are keeping tabs on Newcastle's Sandro Tonali, who has returned from his ban and shown glimpses of his quality.

And finally, Rodrygo reportedly wants to leave Real Madrid, which could spark a scramble among Europe's elite clubs.

Oh, and one more bit of news: West Ham have signed Taty Castellanos from Lazio, and the club have no intention of sacking Nuno Espirito Santo despite their struggles this season.
