Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast! I'm Archer, your host, and it's Tuesday the seventeenth of February, two thousand and twenty-six. We've got a packed show today with plenty of transfer rumors swirling around the Premier League, so let's dive straight in.

Starting with the big one: Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister. This would be an absolutely seismic transfer if it happens, given the rivalry between these two clubs and Mac Allister's importance to Arne Slot's Liverpool side. It's the kind of story that gets fans on both sides very worked up, and rightly so.

Staying on Merseyside, Liverpool are apparently the favorites to sign Newcastle's Anthony Gordon. The Reds seem to be busy on both sides of the transfer equation, and Gordon would add genuine pace and goal threat to their attacking options.

Now, news from Saudi Arabia: Cristiano Ronaldo is set to end his time there. The Portuguese legend's next destination remains unclear, but at thirty-nine years old, it'll be fascinating to see where he lands next.

Back to domestic matters, Liverpool and Manchester United are set to rival each other for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. The young English talent has been turning heads this season, and it looks like both clubs see him as a key addition to their midfield ranks.

Brighton have rejected an approach for their captain Lewis Dunk. Fabian Hurzeler clearly sees the experienced defender as non-negotiable, which is hardly surprising given his importance to the Seagulls' backline.

Nottingham Forest have made a thirty-five million pound bid for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. Sean Dyche is clearly looking to bolster his attacking options, and Mateta's physicality and goal-scoring ability would certainly suit Forest's style.

In managerial news, Manchester United have firmly denied making any contact with Jurgen Klopp about their managerial position. With Michael Carrick currently in interim charge, speculation has been rife, but it seems Klopp won't be making the move to Old Trafford anytime soon.

There's been some confusion in the media about Nottingham Forest, with reports mentioning Vitor Pereira starting work at the club. However, according to our current information, Sean Dyche is the manager at the City Ground, so we'll keep an eye on any official developments there.

Christian Fuchs has revealed he tried to convince Jamie Vardy to join Newport County. It's a delightful story of friendship in football, though unsurprisingly, Vardy didn't fancy dropping down to League Two.

Tim Sherwood has been sharing his thoughts on managerial situations, suggesting that any new manager would need to win the Champions League and ninety percent of Premier League games to truly earn their position. That's quite the benchmark, Tim!

Bjorn Engels will be out for six weeks after a failed move to Nottingham Forest. The defender's injury comes at an unfortunate time, scuppering what could have been an important transfer for both player and club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold continues to shine at Real Madrid, with his sublime assist making headlines. The English right-back's move to Spain has clearly worked out beautifully for him.

There are reports that Mikel Arteta fears injuries could derail Arsenal's quadruple bid. The Gunners are flying on all fronts this season, but squad depth could become an issue if key players pick up knocks.

Finally, Ivan Toney has left the door open for a Premier League return and revealed his England World Cup dreams. The striker, currently plying his trade abroad, clearly hasn't given up on representing his country at the biggest tournament of them all.
