🔄 Manchester City's £425M Spending Spree Continues | Gallagher Joins Spurs
Download MP3Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast! I'm Archer, and it's Friday the twenty-third of January, two thousand and twenty-six. We've got an absolutely massive show today because the January window is in full swing and the drama is off the charts. Grab your coffee, settle in, and let's dive straight into the chaos.
First up, and this is huge, Manchester City have completed the signing of Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace for an initial twenty million pounds. This takes City's spending to a staggering four hundred and twenty-five million pounds over the last twelve months, and honestly, Pep Guardiola is building something extraordinary here.
Staying with City, they've also signed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a deal worth sixty-four million pounds. That's a massive move for the forward, and Andoni Iraola will be disappointed to lose one of his key attacking threats.
Arsenal have joined the race to sign Marc Guehi, but it looks like they've missed out to City on this one. However, the Gunners are monitoring Tino Livramento, which suggests Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen his defensive options.
Tottenham have made a statement signing, bringing in Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid for thirty-four million pounds. Thomas Frank will be delighted to add that midfield experience and energy to his squad, especially after Aston Villa showed interest.
Crystal Palace have signed Brennan Johnson from Tottenham in a club-record thirty-five million deal. Oliver Glasner gets the Wales winger as a replacement for some of the attacking talent moving out of Selhurst Park.
West Ham have signed Taty Castellanos from Lazio, and the club have confirmed they have no intention of sacking Nuno Espirito Santo despite a difficult run of results. The Argentine striker should provide some much-needed firepower.
Aston Villa are busy in the market, with reports they're targeting Ruben Loftus-Cheek and also showing interest in Jean-Philippe Mateta. Unai Emery is clearly looking to bolster his squad for the second half of the season.
Villa are also eyeing a return for Tammy Abraham, which would be a lovely story given his history with the club. That's one to watch as the window progresses.
Chelsea are open to selling Enzo Fernandez, which is quite the development considering the fee they paid for him. Liam Rosenior seems to be reshaping his squad significantly.
Chelsea have also made a move for Jacquet and are keeping tabs on Sandro Tonali from Newcastle. The spending continues at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool are set to sign Ordonez, adding defensive depth for Arne Slot. Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate's contract situation remains unsettled, which will be a concern for the Reds.
Manchester City have also made a move for Anderson, continuing their aggressive January recruitment drive.
Everton are eyeing Arsenal's Ben White, which would be a bold move by David Moyes if he can pull that off. Arsenal would surely demand a hefty fee for the versatile defender.
Oliver Glasner is reportedly on Manchester United's radar as they consider their managerial options beyond Michael Carrick's interim spell. That's an interesting one given Glasner's work at Palace.
Atletico Madrid want Wolves midfielder Rodrigo Gomes, which could be a blow for Rob Edwards.
Bournemouth are keen on Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri and are also eyeing a move for a player named Johnson. Iraola is clearly looking to rebuild after losing Semenyo.
Newcastle face a battle for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, as Eddie Howe looks to add firepower up front.
Marcus Rashford may have a route back into the Manchester United team under Michael Carrick, although Barcelona reportedly want him to stay on loan.
Real Madrid have joined the race for Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace, which shows the quality of the young midfielder.
Rodrygo reportedly wants to leave Real Madrid, which could open the door for Premier League clubs.
Nathan Ake has rejected a move to West Ham, preferring to stay at Manchester City.
And finally, Borussia Dortmund are leading the race for Manchester City's Oscar Bobb.
