🔥 Liverpool Target Newcastle Star & Ronaldo's £43M Saudi Exit Looms
Download MP3Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast. I'm Archer, your guide through the wonderful world of football transfers, where rumours fly faster than a Salah counter-attack and price tags make your eyes water. It's Sunday the fifteenth of February, two thousand and twenty-six, and we've got plenty to get through today, so let's dive straight in.
Starting with some massive news from Merseyside, Liverpool have emerged as favourites to sign Newcastle's Anthony Gordon. Arne Slot clearly sees something special in the England international, and given Liverpool's attacking prowess this season, adding Gordon to that mix could be absolutely frightening for opposition defences. This one feels like it has legs, folks.
Staying with Liverpool, but with a bit of rivalry spice thrown in, the Reds are set to rival Manchester United for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. The young midfielder has been turning heads at Selhurst Park, and it seems both Arne Slot and interim boss Michael Carrick are keen admirers. When Liverpool and United want the same player, you know the bidding war could get interesting.
Now, some goalkeeper drama brewing. Brighton's Bart Verbruggen is attracting serious interest from both Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Fabian Hurzeler won't want to lose his shot-stopper, but when clubs of that calibre come calling with big money, it's always difficult to resist.
Speaking of Brighton, they've rejected an approach for captain Lewis Dunk. The Seagulls are making it clear their defensive leader isn't going anywhere, and you can't blame them for wanting to hold onto such an important player.
Aston Villa are plotting a move for Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White. Unai Emery is clearly looking to add more creativity to his midfield, and Gibbs-White has shown he can operate at the highest level. This could be a smart bit of business if Villa can pull it off.
And speaking of Forest, they've made a thirty-five million pounds bid for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. However, plot twist, Mateta has apparently already agreed a move to AC Milan. Sean Dyche will need to move quickly if he wants to hijack that deal, though it sounds like the striker's mind might already be made up.
Forest have also secured a new contract for Pereira, bolstering their squad as they navigate the season. Good business to tie down your key players before the transfer window chaos intensifies.
Moving to Manchester United, and Sandro Tonali is high on their shortlist. The Newcastle midfielder would be a brilliant addition for Michael Carrick's side, though they'll face competition as Juventus have also identified Tonali as a top target. The Italian giants clearly want to bring him back to Serie A, so United will need deep pockets to win this race.
Juventus are certainly busy in the market. They're also eyeing Everton striker Beto, plus they have their sights set on both Randal Kolo Muani and Joshua Zirkzee. The Old Lady is clearly planning a serious striker refresh, and Beto could get his chance to shine in Italy if David Moyes decides to cash in.
Liverpool continue to dominate our headlines today. Inter Milan want to take Curtis Jones on loan for the remainder of the season. It would give the midfielder valuable playing time, though Arne Slot might be reluctant to weaken his squad depth during a crucial part of the campaign.
Now for some Cristiano Ronaldo news, and there's quite a bit of it. The Portuguese superstar is set to end his strike in Saudi Arabia, with reports suggesting Al-Nassr might offload him for forty-three million pounds. There were even suggestions Ronaldo might ask to leave the club himself. At forty-one years old, it seems his Saudi adventure might be coming to an end sooner than expected. Where he goes next will be absolutely fascinating to watch.
Raheem Sterling is apparently in talks with seven different clubs. The winger is clearly in demand, and with his experience and quality, it's no surprise multiple teams are interested in securing his signature. Sterling still has plenty to offer at the highest level.
And finally, some non-Premier League news but still worth a mention. Livingston have signed former Hearts player McKay, and Salford's Robinson has signed a new contract. Lower league moves that show the transfer market operates at every level of the pyramid.
