🔥 Liverpool Target Anthony Gordon & Adam Wharton - Multiple Clubs Circle Top Talents
Download MP3Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast! I'm Archer, your host, and I'm delighted you've joined us today for another deep dive into the latest Premier League transfer rumours and football news. Let's get straight into it, shall we?
Starting with some major news from Anfield, Liverpool have emerged as favourites to sign Newcastle's Anthony Gordon. The Reds are clearly looking to strengthen their attacking options, and Gordon's Premier League experience could make him an ideal addition for Arne Slot's squad. This could be a really smart piece of business if they can get it over the line.
Staying with Liverpool, they're set to rival Manchester United for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. The twenty-one-year-old has been turning heads with some impressive performances, and both clubs are keen to secure his signature. With Michael Carrick currently in interim charge at United, it'll be interesting to see if that affects their pursuit of targets like Wharton.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are reportedly plotting a move for Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White. Unai Emery has done wonders at Villa Park, and adding Gibbs-White's creativity to their midfield could help push them even further up the table. Forest won't want to lose one of their key players, so this could be a lengthy negotiation.
In some interesting Everton news, Juventus are showing interest in striker Beto. The Portuguese forward has had a mixed time at Goodison Park since his arrival, and a move to Serie A could be just what he needs to reignite his career. David Moyes might not be too upset to see him go if the price is right.
Over at Crystal Palace, Jean-Philippe Mateta has reportedly agreed a move to AC Milan. The French striker has been in decent form for Palace, and this would be a significant loss for Oliver Glasner's side. Milan are clearly looking to bolster their attacking options as they push for Champions League qualification.
Interestingly, Nottingham Forest had previously made a thirty-five million pounds bid for Mateta just a few weeks ago. Sean Dyche was clearly keen to bring him to the City Ground, but it looks like Milan have won the race for his signature. That's quite a turn of events.
Inter Milan are reportedly interested in taking Liverpool's Curtis Jones on loan. The young midfielder has struggled for regular game time at Anfield this season, and a loan move to Italy could provide him with valuable experience. Serie A could be a great learning environment for Jones.
In some intriguing news, Raheem Sterling is apparently in talks with seven different clubs about his future. The former Manchester City and Chelsea winger is clearly in demand despite being in the latter stages of his career. It'll be fascinating to see where he ends up.
Juventus are also eyeing moves for both Randal Kolo Muani and Joshua Zirkzee. The Italian giants are clearly looking to rebuild their attack, and both players would bring different qualities to their forward line. Zirkzee in particular has been linked with several clubs recently.
Brighton have rejected an approach for captain Lewis Dunk. Fabian Hurzeler clearly sees the experienced defender as crucial to his plans, and rightly so given Dunk's importance to the Seagulls. It would take a massive offer to prise him away from the Amex.
Now, a quick update on some non-Premier League news that's been making waves. Cristiano Ronaldo is set to end his strike at Al-Nassr after previously asking to leave the Saudi club. The Portuguese legend's time in Saudi Arabia has been eventful to say the least, and it seems tensions have now eased.
Let's quickly run through today's Premier League results. Manchester City dominated Newcastle three-nil, showing why Pep Guardiola's side remain title contenders. Liverpool came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest two-one at the City Ground, maintaining their push at the top of the table.
In the North London derby, Tottenham secured a two-one victory over Arsenal under Thomas Frank's guidance. Chelsea beat Burnley two-nil as Liam Rosenior continues to settle into his role at Stamford Bridge. West Ham edged past Bournemouth one-nil, while Everton and Manchester United played out a one-all draw at Goodison.
Brentford beat Brighton two-one in an entertaining clash, and Aston Villa drew one-all with Leeds United. Sunderland went down two-one to Fulham, and Crystal Palace and Wolves shared the points in a one-all draw.
