Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast! I'm Archer, your guide through the wild, wonderful, and occasionally baffling world of Premier League transfers. It's Thursday, February the fifth, two thousand and twenty-six, and my word, do we have some stories to unpack today. From Liverpool rivalries to Chelsea clear-outs, we've got the lot. Let's dive straight in.

First up, Liverpool are set to rival Manchester United for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. Both clubs are circling the talented England international, and given Palace's willingness to negotiate for the right price, this could become a proper bidding war. Wharton's creativity in midfield would suit either Arne Slot's system at Liverpool or Michael Carrick's rebuild at Old Trafford, so expect this one to rumble on.

Moving to Everton, where Juventus are reportedly interested in striker Beto. The Italian giants are looking to bolster their attacking options, and Beto's physicality and work rate fit their profile. Whether David Moyes wants to let him go mid-season is another matter entirely, especially with Everton fighting for every point.

Big news from Crystal Palace: Jean-Philippe Mateta has agreed a move to AC Milan. The French striker has been in decent form for Oliver Glasner's side, and Milan clearly see him as the answer to their striking woes. Palace will need to move quickly to replace those goals if they want to maintain their mid-table push.

Inter Milan want Liverpool's Curtis Jones on loan for the remainder of the season. The versatile midfielder has struggled for regular minutes under Arne Slot, and a loan move to Serie A could be exactly what he needs to rediscover his form. It would give Liverpool some squad flexibility while Jones gets crucial playing time.

Raheem Sterling is in talks with seven different clubs as he looks to revive his career. The former Manchester City and Chelsea winger has had a turbulent time recently, and multiple clubs across Europe are interested in securing his services. At thirty-one years old, Sterling still has plenty to offer, and this could be a fascinating move wherever he lands.

Juventus are certainly busy, as they're also eyeing both Randal Kolo Muani and Joshua Zirkzee. The Italian side are clearly looking to overhaul their attack, and both strikers would bring different qualities to their front line. Kolo Muani's pace and Zirkzee's technical ability make them attractive options for a club chasing Champions League football.

Brighton have rejected an approach for captain Lewis Dunk. Fabian Hurzeler has made it clear the defender is not for sale, and rightly so. Dunk has been the backbone of Brighton's defence for years, and losing him mid-season would be a massive blow to their European ambitions.

Nottingham Forest have made a thirty-five million pounds bid for Jean-Philippe Mateta. Hang on, didn't we just say he's agreed a move to Milan? Well, Forest are clearly trying to hijack the deal with a substantial offer. Sean Dyche knows a proven goalscorer when he sees one, and Mateta would be an excellent addition to Forest's attack.

Manchester City are keeping tabs on Trent Alexander-Arnold. With the right-back's Liverpool contract situation still unresolved, Pep Guardiola's side are monitoring developments closely. The thought of Alexander-Arnold in a City shirt would send shockwaves through Merseyside, and this is definitely one to watch as the season progresses.

Tottenham could pay just five million pounds for Andy Robertson. The Scottish left-back has been a Liverpool stalwart for years, but with his contract situation and age, Thomas Frank's Tottenham see an opportunity for a cut-price deal. Robertson's experience and delivery would certainly add quality to Spurs' backline.

Despite all the speculation, there will be no Real Madrid exit for Trent Alexander-Arnold this month. The Spanish giants remain interested, but any move will have to wait until the summer at the earliest. Liverpool fans can breathe a small sigh of relief, at least for now.

Mohamed Salah remains a prime target for the Saudi Pro League. The Egyptian king has been linked with a mega-money move to the Middle East for some time now, and those rumours simply won't go away. At thirty-three years old, Salah still has incredible quality, but the financial offer from Saudi Arabia could prove too tempting to resist eventually.

Aston Villa are targeting Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Unai Emery wants to add more creativity to his midfield, and the former Chelsea man would bring Premier League experience and technical quality to Villa Park. Loftus-Cheek has shown glimpses of his potential over the years, and a move to Villa could reignite his career.

Villa are also interested in Jean-Philippe Mateta, making them the third club after Milan and Forest to chase the Palace striker. Mateta is clearly in demand, and Villa's European football could be an attractive proposition. This transfer saga is getting increasingly complicated by the day.

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate's contract situation is not yet settled. The French centre-back has been crucial to Arne Slot's defence this season, and Liverpool will be keen to tie him down to a new deal before other clubs start sniffing around. Contract negotiations can be tricky, but you'd expect this one to get sorted eventually.

Chelsea are open to selling Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine midfielder, who cost over one hundred million pounds just a few years ago, hasn't quite lived up to expectations at Stamford Bridge. Liam Rosenior's Chelsea are clearly willing to move players on to reshape the squad, and Fernandez could be a significant departure if the right offer arrives.

Chelsea are also making a move for young French talent Enzo Jacquet. The Blues continue their policy of signing promising youngsters from across Europe, and Jacquet fits that profile perfectly. Whether he goes straight into the first team or joins the development squad remains to be seen.

Interesting managerial news now: Oliver Glasner is on Manchester United's radar. With Michael Carrick currently in interim charge at Old Trafford, United are weighing up their options for a permanent appointment. Glasner has done excellent work at Crystal Palace, and his tactical acumen would certainly appeal to the United hierarchy.

Atletico Madrid want Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes. The Brazilian has been one of the standout players for Rob Edwards' side this season, and Atletico see him as the perfect addition to their engine room. Wolves will be reluctant to sell such an important player, especially mid-season, but Spanish clubs have a habit of getting their targets.

Finally, a couple of quick notes: N'Golo Kante is close to a move to Fenerbahce as his Saudi Arabian adventure appears to be ending, and former Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has left Hull City. Not strictly Premier League news, but worth mentioning for those keeping tabs on former stars.
