Welcome back to Transfer News Podcast, the show where we sort through the rumours, the reports, and the absolute chaos that is the summer transfer window β€” so you don't have to. I'm Archer, and honestly, if this window gets any wilder, I'm going to need a second cup of coffee before I even open my laptop. Let's get into it.

Kicking things off with a big one β€” Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Jan Paul van Hecke, the Brighton and Hove Albion centre-back, and Roberto De Zerbi is clearly wasting no time bolting together his Spurs side for next season. Van Hecke has been one of the more composed defenders in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons, and this looks like a smart, structured signing.

And while we're on Spurs β€” they've entered a three-way battle to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United. According to Sky Sports, Newcastle do not want to let their midfielder go, which makes this one fascinating to watch unfold. The lure of Champions League football and a bumper contract could be the thing that tips it.

Now, speaking of Ruben Amorim β€” he won't be in the dugout at Manchester United next season, because Sky Sports are reporting that Amorim has been appointed as the new AC Milan manager. That is a seismic development. It means Manchester United are now in full rebuild mode, both on and off the pitch.

And in a related twist, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Graham O'Neil are among the candidates being considered to replace Kieran McKenna at Ipswich Town, following McKenna's departure. That's a big job for whoever takes it, with Ipswich having punched well above their weight in recent seasons.

Now onto Manchester United's left wing search β€” they remain in the market and one of the top targets according to reports is Rafael Leao, the AC Milan winger. Given that Amorim is now heading to the San Siro though, that particular deal could get very complicated, very quickly.

Real Madrid have made direct contact with Bruno Fernandes, according to BBC Sport. That story has been bubbling for a little while now β€” it was reported earlier this month that Real Madrid were planning to join the Fernandes race, and now it seems they've made their move official with an approach. Manchester United will be desperate to hold onto him, particularly with everything else going on at the club right now.

On the subject of Paris Saint-Germain β€” they could rival Arsenal for Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White, per BBC Sport. This is one to watch, because Forest's VΓtor Pereira has built something special at the City Ground, and losing Gibbs-White would be a real blow.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Lamine Bouaddi, the young French midfielder, and Liverpool are also in talks β€” so Mikel Arteta and Andoni Iraola could be going head to head for one of the most exciting young talents in Europe. BBC Sport report both clubs are in discussions.

And it's not just Bouaddi where Arsenal and Liverpool are competing β€” both clubs are also chasing Bradley Barcola, the Paris Saint-Germain winger. Barcola had a stunning season in France and would be a marquee addition for whoever lands him.

Arsenal are additionally in the hunt for Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White β€” wait, we've covered that one. Let me come back around β€” Arsenal are also reportedly targeting Neco Williams, the Nottingham Forest right-back, as Arteta looks to strengthen his full-back options.

Real Madrid are circling Arsenal too β€” they've been credited with interest in Riccardo Calafiori, the Italian defender who has impressed at the Emirates. Arsenal will be very keen to protect their best assets this summer, so this could turn into a standoff.

Real Madrid have also been linked with a bid for Michael Olise, as they look to add more wide quality following their own transfer activity. Olise has been electric and it's no surprise the big clubs are circling.

Real Madrid meanwhile are closing in on signing a player referred to as Silva in reports β€” the details are still emerging on that one, but Real are clearly having an extremely busy window.

Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of Wilfried Singo's Ivory Coast teammate β€” actually, the player in question here is Sinaly Diomande, and Andoni Iraola's Liverpool are pushing hard to get that deal over the line.

Aston Villa's Unai Emery has made it clear the club intend on keeping Morgan Rogers, and that stance has been reaffirmed following strong interest from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. Rogers has been exceptional and Villa are right to fight for him.

Newcastle United's Lewis Hall is reportedly keen on a move to Manchester United. Hall has been a solid performer for Eddie Howe's side, but whether Newcastle entertain any bids remains another question entirely.

AC Milan are chasing Crysencio Summerville, the winger who lit up the Championship and then the Premier League with Leeds United. That would be a big move for the player if it comes off.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are both eyeing Marc Cucurella, the Chelsea left-back, according to BBC Sport. Xabi Alonso will need to decide whether the Spaniard fits into his long-term Chelsea plans.

And finally, Arsenal have placed a twenty million pounds asking price on Gabriel Jesus, as the Brazilian striker's future at the club remains uncertain. That feels like decent value if anyone fancies a proven Premier League forward.
